It is increasingly common connection of power generation sources to the distribution system. Usually, the interconnection of the power source to system is determined according to its location, selecting, in general, the closest point. Connecting to a remote point requires an optimization study to determine whether there are benefits that may in the medium or long term, make the investment viable. Additionally, a well-chosen connection can improve voltage level of the system, reduce losses, but also relieve loading of some stretches. This work aims to present an algorithm for optimal power flow, in order to determine the active and reactive power injections of the nodes that will minimize system losses.
