Digital writing is making breakthroughs in language instruction. With digital writing software in online language learning labs, this paper elaborates an empirical study introducing the implementation process of cooperative learning in network environment. Adopting qualitative and quantitative approaches, the research results show that cooperative learning enhances student autonomy and control over the language learning process and achieves better effects in improving the students' English writing skills. Moreover, the research also shed some lights on pedagogical implications, illustrating the benefits cooperative learning brings to college English teaching.
