Presented is a novel coding method for steady-state visual evoked potential (SSVEP). To relax the limitations of SSVEP, the number of flash stimulators requires the same number of flashing frequencies for coding. However, the number of frequencies that may be required for stimulation is limited. This study proposes multi-frequencies embedded with the multi-phase flickering sequences stimulation method. In the experiments, the study considered SSVEPs induced by nine groups of light emitting diodes generated by only two frequencies. The proposed method of flickering sequences has been tested on five subjects to verify its feasibility. The average accuracy obtained was 87.3 ± 16.6± in the simulation test.
