Comparison of SVC and STATCOM in voltage profile improvement of Grid Connected Asynchronous Generator under overload and short circuit conditions

Asynchronous generators has restrictions and problems such as frequency and reactive power control, and it has problem in output voltage control under dynamic Load fluctuations due to lack of separate field circuit. In this article, in order to control and voltage profile improvement Grid Connected Asynchronous Generator (GCASG), the use of parallel static compensators SVC (Static Var Compensator) & STATCOM (STATic synchronous COMpensator) is evaluated and compared.
