The main goal of C.-S. Poon (ibid., vol.AC-31, p.664-666, 1986) in the above-titled paper is to derive explicit expressions for the first and second derivatives of particular scalar functions of the Fisher information matrix for a given class of parameter estimation problems. The present authors point out that some of the expressions shown are incorrect, and corrections for the errors are given.<>
