This paper presents the results of an extensive field measurements program conducted by Hewlett Packard in suburban environments to characterize radio wave propagation at 28 GHz for local multipoint distribution service. The coverage results vary from 60% at a hub antenna height of 40 ft to 80% for an antenna height of 80 ft with a cell radius of 2 km. The initial results for coverage evaluation using an advanced LMDS planning tool are discussed
