A new scheme combining multiple description coding (MDC) and distributed video coding (DVC), called a novel feedback free multiple description distributed video coding (MDDVC) scheme, is proposed to overcome the drift distortion and feedback problem for robust transmission. Experimental results show that the proposed MDDVC proves to be a promising scheme, removing the feedback channel.
