In Wireless sensor network, data is oriented toward the center node together, which leads to funnel effect. From the data transfer rate angle, we put forward multi-rate application in wireless sensor network, make use of different abilities of data processing and characteristics between different data transfer rate, consider the distance or hops that node away from central node and the load around its interference region, distribute nodes' data transfer rate in network reasonably. Multi-rate application in network can weaken the funnel effect and improve the system capacity, throughput, network fairness to some extent. This study is based on real platform, we have done large number of experiments, data statistics, relative analysis to prove the feasibility and validity of the method.
