With the increasing of services in distribution power communication network, the network traffic increases rapidly, which results in descent of utilization of network resources, traffic transmission reliability and increasing the difficulty of network control. Based on the packet transport network (PTN) technology, a distribution power communication experimental network with hierarchical structure is built. The PTN traffic engineering model and the traffic engineering extensions of OSPF routing algorithm and CSPF algorithm mechanism are proposed. Simulation with OPNET and analysis of the distribution power communication network is conducted. The result indicates that the PTN traffic engineering has an obvious effect on network traffic management, the load balancing and the transmission reliability of services. It provides the theory basis and the application reference for the implementation of the distribution power communication network.
