The KERI-IIT Local Area Monitoring System for Micro Grid Project have a duration of 3 years. During first year of project, KERI-IIT deploy PMU equipment on IIT's Perfect Power microgrid to monitor and analyze voltage and current waveforms. KERI and IIT will have access to raw data collected from the PMU equipment. A total of 16 PMUs are installed for deployment on the Perfect Power system (Loops 1, 2 and 3). Detailed waveform analysis conducted by the research team in second year will enable a new load characterization application based on the synchronized sensor measurements. In last year, KERI-IIT will propose new PMU which has more intelligent functions for microgrid.
