The magnetic information exchange system of the Advanced Photo System has a special feature in its structure. Original information recorded by various types of cameras is read by other devices such as photofinishing equipment. The purpose of this paper is to discuss technological problems and solutions in the magnetic information exchange system design of the photofinishing equipment relative to the features of the Advanced Photo System. For example, head/film interface, specification between write equipment (camera) and read equipment (photofinishing), and head-clogging caused by wet processing. These problems are different from other magnetic recording system situations and unique techniques are used for their solution
