In distributed video coding (DVC), side information (SI) is crucial to the decoding performance and reconstruction quality of the image. Therefore, we propose to make use of the temporal correlation between the partially reconstructed WZ frame and the decoded key frames as well as the spatial correlation in the WZ frame to revise the SI for better quality. Furthermore, the parameter of the correlation noise model between the modified SI and the partially reconstructed WZ frame is estimated as the approximation of that for the other parts which have not been decoded in the WZ frame. The experimental results illustrate that compared with the method in DISCOVER, the PSNR gain for our proposed SI generation and correlation parameter estimation method can achieve up to 1.4db.
