Double-sided DIBR (Depth Image Based Rendering) has attracted more and more attention in 3DTV nowadays, owing to its more scene content than traditional unidirectional DIBR. The main problems for double-sided DIBR are lower image quality and some unexpected image ghosting. In this paper, an improved Z-buffer algorithm is proposed in the course of 3D warping, which can greatly decrease exposed areas of target view image without introducing any geometric deformation, finally image ghosting is eliminated before image fusion. The experimental results show that the algorithm can obtain better rendering image.
