With the infinitely long current filament as the probe, the application of cosine window function with the parameters optimized by Genetic Algorithm (GA) in plane-wave synthesis technique is studied by the method of computer simulation. Cosine window function with the parameters optimized by GA is utilized to weight the amplitude and phase distribution of the linear array made up of the infinitely long current filament elements obtained by the method of Physical Optic (PO) so as to effectively improve the uniform degree of the amplitude and phase of the quasi-plane-wave synthesized in the near zone of the array. The results of computer simulation show that weighting method of cosine window function with the parameters optimized by GA can greatly improve the quality of the quasi-plane-wave synthesized and make the distribution of the amplitude and phase of the quasi-plane-wave more uniform than that obtained by the traditional weighting method of Physical Optics and the weighting method of cosine window function with the parameters arbitrarily selected respectively.
