Nowadays, the computer network equipment is highly efficient. It provides faster communication with low cost. Traffic analysis is one of major's factors for the network design. In recently, characteristic of HTTP, FTP, SMTP, VoIP and other Internet applications in the intra-domain network are being widely studied in term of bandwidth utilization. However, a characteristic of multicast traffic in the local area network (LAN) is rarely studied in term of packet size and interval time distribution. Therefore, this paper present the multicast traffic analysis in an intra-domain network in term of such two parameters based on several networks. This experiment results are useful for multicast traffic simulation.
