This letter presents a fast speed, maximum voltage-tracking circuit for energy-harvesting applications, which can operate with a supply voltage down to 500 mV. The circuit incorporates a transient enhancement path to accelerate voltage-tracking speed. As the bias currents are automatically generated by the input voltages, neither current reference circuit nor precharging process is required, leading to simplified architecture and plug-and-play property. The circuit was successfully implemented and verified on a 130-nm CMOS prototype.
