In this paper we present the development / microfabrication of a device for the study of neuronal and cellular networks, useful to stimulate and record signals of both electrical and chemical nature. Being 3D type electrodes with tip dimension in nanometric range, the cells can survive even though they are penetrate by nanoelectrodes, and consequently the Si chip acts as a micro-platform to accommodate the neuronal cells and allows much finer temporal resolution of multisite electrical stimulation and recording without any damage to the investigated cells.
