A detection algorithm based on dual-sliding-window (DSW) is designed for the detection of channel impulse response (CIR). In OFDM systems with coherent demodulation, the precision of channel estimation has a significant impact on the performance of the receivers. However, traditional threshold-detection algorithms adopted by time-domain channel estimation are sensitive to noise in the presence of low-level CIR components. Based on the analysis of the distribution characteristic of low-level CIR, a novel and robust detection algorithm is derived in this paper and applied in the channel estimation of time-domain synchronous OFDM (TDS-OFDM) systems. The detection performance is investigated theoretically. Experimental results also verified the theoretical analysis and the validity of the proposed scheme.
