Parameter validation is a required task in power systems in order to improve the confidence of the simulation models. This paper shows the hybrid simulation as a smart method to perform the validation task. Available methods are discussed and a new one is proposed. The forced power injection method proposed is tested using virtual data recordings. Real PMU recordings from the Colombian System are used in hybrid simulations, showing large differences in the simulation models. It is suggested the need for developing smart tools for model and parameter assessment.
