The ways to identify the equivalent transverse shear modulus of the honeycomb core are presented. Gyz is identified with a model of trident core cell, Gxz is computed using a model of two-walled core cells by boundary elemenmethod. The shear deformations of the cells are simplified to plane-stress problems related on the boundary of the cell walls. Coupled boundary element equations for the plane pairs are established, and numerical examples show that this simple efficient 2-D model has comparable accuracy with that of three-dimensional finite element model.
