Application of non-equilibrimn stage model to liquid-liquid extraction

The application of the nor-equilibriun stage model to the multicomponent, non-ideal liquid-liquid extraction process is described in this paper. Pilot plant experinents and a commercial process of aromatic separation by sulfolane in sieve tray extraction colunns were chosen as examples to show the advantages and benefits of the non-equilibriun stage model over the conventional model.
