An operation and management system for mobile value-added services is designed by Chunghwa Telecom Co., Ltd (CHT). The numerous and sophisticated value-added services in mobile communication network were classified according to their inherent characteristics. This system established hierarchy relationship from these classified services and used these hierarchy relationships as a basis to proceed to monitor mobile value-added services. It contains three aspects of services monitoring mechanisms. The first aspect is User View Monitoring named by this paper, and it is to monitor services by simulating user's behavior of manipulating the value-added services. The second aspect is Interface View Monitoring named by this paper, and it is to gather and analyze traffic from the value-added service network to find out obstacles of services. The third aspect is Equipment View Monitoring named by this paper, and it to monitor operation state of value-added services' equipments. The system can provide multi-aspect services monitoring mechanisms and gathers results of multi-aspect services monitoring. It can provide alarm notification from integrated analysis of three aspects of services monitoring when faults occur in value-added services. It can also provide analysis of barrier reason from integrated analysis for troubleshooting. Compared with only one aspect of services monitoring mechanisms, the integrated monitoring mechanisms, in this paper, can increase accuracy of notification and work efficiency.
