Spatial data management is an important factor that affects the performance of WebGIS. In this paper, spatial data management for WebGIS is discussed from two aspects: spatial data model and data storage. Current data models and storage methods are analyzed and compared. According to the requirements of spatial data management for WebGIS, a spatial data model is proposed, which organizes spatial data in four levels: geometry, feature, layer and map. Based on this model, spatial data are managed and stored in object-relational database management system (ORDBMS).
