In this paper, a power-aware dual-tree-based multicast routing protocol (PDTMRP) for mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) is proposed. In the proposed scheme, all nodes are randomly classified into two types, group-0 and group-1. To achieve the load balance, two multicast trees (tree-0 for group-0 and tree-1 for group-1) were constructed. Simulation results show that the proposed PDTMRP scheme outperforms MAODV and RMAODV schemes.
