Target identification and tracking in Airport Surveillance are heavily influenced by the performance and limitations of the surveillance sensors used. The measurement process of such sensors is adversely affected by environmental clutter and dense traffic conditions and this may result in Multi-Sensor Data Fusion (MSDF) not being able to adequately manage the associated errors. The scope of this study is to identify a number of techniques pertinent to the enhancement of MSDF performance and reliability, and to elaborate on the analysis of some such techniques.
