In order to detect the metallic or non-metallic dangerous goods concealed in body surface and without health risk for person scanned, the passive 3-millimeter-wave imaging system is established. An edge detection technique based on super-resolution algorithm is investigated to improve the detecting validity. The traditional edge detection cannot apply here directly for the detection system with numerous noises. Therefore, Lucy-Richardson iterative, restricted least square algorithm and user-defined palliative module filtering are combined to process the detecting images, and then the edge detection can be effectively realized using Canny arithmetic operator. Experiment results demonstrate that the approach proposed can achieve an accurate edge detection, which not only remains valuable data, but also reduces data amount markedly.
