Nowadays the Internet of Things is a new concept that attracts more and more attention of researchers. A large amount of smart objects with various communication interfaces will access the Internet of Things. Unique addressing schemes and unified communication mechanism are two basic issues. In this paper, we introduce our solutions. We designed a data platform which can work as the middleware between the physical objects and the virtual digital world. It provides RESTful Web Service, which means any physical object has the unique URI as its address and can be accessed through standard HTTP methods. We also introduce two advanced applications based on our platform, environmental perception and vehicular networks.
