Penetration of distributed power generation (DG) such as photovoltaic systems is increasing for reducing CO2 emission etc. The large penetration may lead to excessive voltage rise in the utility distribution line by reverse power flow. DG usually reduces the active output power to restrain the voltage rise according to Japanese grid-interconnection code. As the result, large energy loss may occur in the large penetration. Reactive power control method of DG is a measure for restraining the active power reduction. However, sufficient reactive power may not be obtained with conventional local autonomous control of DG by monitoring distribution line voltage because the voltage is usually different according to location. In this study, a proper reactive power sharing method between DG using ICT to prevent the reduction of active power is proposed. The availability and effect of the proposed method are confirmed by demonstration test and simulation analyses.
