According to the group decision making problems with alternative preference information in form of ordinal interval, the method of set pair analysis is offered in this paper. First, a description of the decision making problems with alternative preference information in form of ordinal interval is given by the author, and he analyzes the imperfections of the existing Borda method and the method of ideal-point shortage. Second, set pair analysis method is introduced in the problem , correlate is used to re-express the preference information, and then a new ideal point based on the contact number distance calculations is put forward by the author. Last, the feasibility and availability of the method given in the paper is illustrated by a supplier's calculation example.
