An intelligent home appliance control system, composed of intelligent socket and concentrator is proposed and investigated in this paper. The real time control of the appliance is realized through the intelligent socket by electrical power metering, alarm signal detection and control of the state of electrical switches. A concentrator is employed to achieve the control of appliances and real-time monitoring by receiving and processing dates (the electric quantity measurement data, the alarm signal data and long-range wireless communication data). Result shows that the system fulfills the design requirements of condition monitoring and home security and alarm functions. Thus, the intelligent control of the home appliance can be achieved.
