In this paper, a formation control problem of second-order multi-agent systems with time-varying coupling delays under directed interconnection topology is investigated. Sufficient conditions are obtained for the attainment of both time-invariant and time-varying formations as well as time-varying formations for trajectory tracking under a special multiple leaders' framework. Some numerical simulations are also conducted to validate the theoretical results.
