Although the use of Social Networking web sites and applications is increasingly on the rise, many users are not properly informed of the risks associated with using these sites and application. Understanding these risks and challenges should be addressed to avoid potential loss of private and personal information. While some studies concerning this issue have been conducted within the context of developed countries, very few studies have been conducted within the context of developing countries. This paper examines the issues of security, privacy, and trust in social networking sites from users' viewpoint, and within the context of two developing countries, namely Thailand and the UAE. Both countries have witnessed a significant increase in the use of social networking tools in the last few years.
