The hardware and software of the wide area measurement system on power grid in Guangxi were introduced. The technical features of this system were illustrated, including the collection and recall methods of the phasor measurement data, combination of relational database and dynamic database, on-line monitoring of the dynamic power system, on-line discrimination of low frequency oscillation, integration of steady, dynamic and transient data, etc. The application actualities and development prospects of this system were discussed.
