This paper introduces the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) and its terminal application. It develops a software system of the IMS intelligent terminal based on Windows Mobile. The paper also introduces the development environment and the overall structure of the IMS terminal and describes the main thread. It presents the complete process of the Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) in detail through elaborating the design of the IMS registration message and IPTV services. IPTV based on the IMS terminal can be played in the experiment network. It verifies the validity and feasibility of the system design by testing.
