Transition to IPv6 is inevitable, since the last IPv4 addresses have been recently allocated. Existing IPv6 lookup algorithms are not scalable as the IPv6 addresses are four times longer than the IPv4 addresses. Proposed is a novel IPv6 lookup algorithm which is far more scalable than previous solutions.
