To provide a theoretical support for the modularization design method for small underwater vehicle, it discusses the modularization design method based on the design principle system. It proposes the modular design process for underwater vehicle and analyses the basic functional requirement. According to the functional parameters of certain vehicle, it decompounds the functional modular and accomplishes the decoupling computing based on the modularization description manner of designed matrix. It obtains the appropriate modular partition way, which contributes to the further research on the modular structure and system reconfiguration.
