Rapid GIS implementation aimed at the navigation safety brought to light a series of problems concerning the information redundancy and the necessity of making correct decisions in real-time. For solving these problems an approach based on the implementation of the systems of artificial intellectuality is provided. Intellectual Geographic Information System architecture and its applications are described. The “Ontomap” software system is studied as an example.
