This paper discusses both principles and implementations of new methods to expand traditional Web information systems to mobile application systems by integrating existing enterprise resources for several objectives, including adding new enterprise services, improving the efficiency, and enhancing the image of the enterprise. In particular, through the study of a real instance, which is a Web-based public class registration system in a university in Suzhou, we illustrate the method and the procedure for transferring from Web systems to mobile application systems based on J2ME.
