Real-time supervision and AEMS for ±50 Mvar Cascade STATCOM has been designed in this paper, and the inherent Operation Monitoring and Fault Diagnosis System has also been discussed. A ±50 Mvar Cascade STATCOM system has been introduced, according to the system, real-time supervisory control and data acquisition for Cascade STATCOM has been carried out. It can accurately determine operating conditions of the STATCOM system and provide comprehensive real-time supervision. The designed real-time supervision system has been proved successful in the ±50 Mvar Cascade STATCOM, and also available for other FACTS/DFACTS devices.
