In this paper, we apply a space-time Prony estimation method with wavelet denoising. In addition to denoising property of wavelet transformation, the proposed approach appeals to its decorrelating nature. Our method improves the performance of radar systems with large array antennas, such as OTH radars when the target has low Doppler and angle of arrival in low SINR. We demonstrate that this Prony estimator achieves an acceptable performance in terms of accuracy and resolution in comparison with high resolution algorithms such as MUSIC which are second-order statistics-based in presence of powerful correlated interference. Moreover, we present how to apply STAP technique to parameter estimation of target in multi-path environments causing the cost function determining the target's Doppler and angle to be nonlinear. Through extensive simulations, we demonstrate that our proposed algorithm outperforms the previously reported estimators with low computational cost.
