The orthogonal design was used to study the synthesis of butyl acetate, using acetic acid and n-butanol as materials, industrial-grade multi-wall carbon nanotube purred liquid oxide as catalyst. In the orthogonal experiment with three factors and four levels, the influence of the ratio alcohol to acid, catalyst dosage and the reaction time on the esterification was discussed. When the ice acetic acid dosage is 0.1mol, reaction temperature 120 ± 2°C, the results of experiment indicates that the optimum conditions for the ratio alcohol to acid is 1.2, the amount of catalyst is 1.0g, the reaction time is 3h, the inversion ratio of ice acetic acid is 68.22%. The carbon nanotube as an application prospects catalyst of esterification reaction is no environment pollution, reusable and regenerate.
