In this paper, we study power loading and resource allocation for OFDM-based femtocell networks. To mitigate the interference to the macrocell from the femtocell, interference constraints have to be applied for power loading in the femtocell. Taking the interference constraints into account, we propose an iterative water filling algorithm to improve the system performance. The proposed algorithm is further developed with a proportional fair scheduling algorithm to maintain the fairness among the femto users. Simulation results are given to support the advantages of the proposed solution, showing that more than 60% capacity gain at -8dB SNR and 5% gain at 6dB can be achieved.
