A new pulse combustion control system is proposed in this paper for oxygen-enriched ceramic kiln which is hard to modeling. First, a new hardware design for pulse combustion system is presented which can regulate both the combustion power and on-off ratio. Next, a design method of fuzzy controller for the constant temperature phase is proposed. The output of the controller is used to control theon-off ratio of the nozzles. Finally, a performance comparison between fuzzy control and PID control is presented. The result shows that the fuzzy algorithm can satisfactorily meet the requirements of system such as lower overshooting, precise temperature maintenance, and uniform temperature field. The control effect is superior to conventional PID control.
