This paper presents a teaching method in use in the computer programming courses undertaken at the Telecommunication Engineering Technical School from the University of Valladolid. This method is based in the use of the cooperative learning. In particular, an adaptation of the jigsaw approach is proposed, including tournaments for verifying the learning process together with the parallel development of traditional programming practices, and a peer-reviewing process. Hence, in spite of the learning method being basically cooperative, both competitive inter-grouping and individual learning is used.
