Managing large and small files in a distributed system

Digital Ecosystems rely on the exchange of information between participants of the system. Within one ecosystem the size and complexity of the data can have a wide variation. In this note we investigate the problems of managing large and small files within the same system using the integrated Rule Oriented Data management System (iRODS).
