This paper presents the development of a cognitive and collaborative filtering system that uses retrieval and filtering algorithms implemented in a multiagent system that runs in a distributed environment developed by using the GAIA methodology, which allows to identify agents, communication protocols, behaviors, and roles of each entity within the system. The end result is a prototype that allows the classification of documents according to the user preferences, to the contents of visited pages from recommendations made for users with similar interests as well.
