Complexity versus performance tradeoff for fiber nonlinearity compensation using frequency-shaped, multi-subband backpropagation

We investigate the use of an enhanced backpropagation algorithm where subbanding and frequency-shaping by pre- and post-filters are used in the calculation of nonlinearity to enable larger step sizes and reduced algorithmic complexity.
