Interval analysis is used to characterize the set of all input sequences with a given length that drive a nonlinear discrete-time state-space system from a given initial state to a given set of terminal states. No requirement other than computability (i.e. ability to be evaluated by a finite algorithm) is put on the nature of the state equations. The method is based on an algorithm for set inversion and approximates the solution set in a guaranteed way
