An improved analytical hysteresis model and its implementation in magnetic recording modeling by the finite element method

An improved finite element modeling of the magnetic recording writing process is presented, It is based on a new analytical scalar hysteresis model and on the use of a modified fixed-point method to insure fast and unconditional convergence of this highly nonlinear computation. The results of the hysteresis model show an accurate description of major loop and closed minor loops, as experimentally observed. The simulation of the behavior of a planar head writing on a thin film disk also closely agrees with experimental data.
