The development of a 4 by 8 X-band antenna array for Synthetic Aperture Radar applications is presented. The antenna array design concept provides for dual polarization for a High Resolution Wide Swath System. For enhancing the bandwidth a stacked, aperture coupled patch antenna and corporate feed networks for vertical and horizontal polarization are proposed. Measurements for verification of the antenna array are performed and demonstrate wideband operation, low cross polarization and high isolation.
